That would depend on the size of the diesel engine used. You have to keep
in mind that we're not using the vegetable oil to heat the house, but to
run the engine. Diesel engines are quite economical.

Maybe not in San Diego, but in the back country of Iowa, one probably
could. OTH, there is always diesel fuel for backup.

I think so. Hot water heaters were the best in their time. They can be
again with the right application. I always enjoyed the hot water heater in
my room as a youngster. Warmth and a bit of moisture to keep you healthy.
None of that dry air that plugs up your nose that we get from today's
furnaces.
