I'm certainly no authority on this, but I'm guessing that you are using
the Windows print driver for your printer. I've had some weird
printable space combos on several printers I use around here with
Windows. If you have a WP driver for your printer, from my personal
experience they have been a little faster printing and a little more
flexible on the margins.
On my Canon BJC-610, the reasoning is that the margins must meet or
exceed the printer's printable area. In MY case, depending on driver,
the top margin can be .12" in BJ mode or .33" in Epson mode. The bottom
margin can be .28" when printing from DOS, but has to be .48" when
printing from Windows. Danged if I know WHY, but that's how it is!
Cheers,
Phil
