Well, one week later and we're "playing phone tag" with each other,
and I'm still none the wiser as to what's taking place (mom says the
place is still there and open, ).

And for all of you who doubt the effectiveness of surge protectors: 
We've had several ultra strong thunderstorms this week with lots of
lightning activity, I've lost 3 surge protectors (2 electrical outlet,
1 phone line type), but I have NOT lost a single piece of equipment! 
(much cheaper to replace a blown surge protector than tv's, vcr's,
computers and modems)
