How would a hayburner affect the ecology there?

Not too many of those around anymore. I'd rather get around on a horse,
but it's been many years since I rode one and am not sure my innards could
take the pounding. Not that I don't know how to sit a horse -- I've gotten
older since I used to ride every day (and night).

The horse is wonderful to get around on, but you can't be in a hurry to get
where you're going, even though some can attain speeds of 40 Mph. They'll
run till they drop, so at that point, you'll have to be mindful of two
things:

1. How you will land when the animal collapses, and
2. How you till get where you're headed from there.

Just think of all the sights you'll get to see along the way that you
didn't notice before. (-:

We don't have the cold you have in Iowa, but yesterday, the temps got into
the Seventies from a low in the Forties.

Ronald Reagan used to say "The best thing for the inside of a man is
the outside of a horse."
