Don,
There was a keyboard that I preferred to the Type M. AT&T via the long
= defunct Teletype division basically made one with the same tactile =
feedback as the IBM unit, but was quieter (de-squeaked as it were). I =
only have one of those left, and after a good cleaning it would probably =
still work. But ivory colored keyboards are sooo yesterday! ;->
I should have my new ones tomorrow. Unicom impressed me as well. They =
normally ship UPS, but offer the option of shipping FedEx if you provide =
your account number. Unfortunately the site didn't allow one to specify =
what FedEx service was desired. I had a message on my answering machine =
this morning from them asking what service I wanted and if they didn't =
hear from me it would go out today Standard Overnight. Exactly what I =
wanted.

I have a crate of them in climate controlled storage.
Based on the manufacturing date on the bottom, if the one I'm using =
now
were to die tomorrow, and assuming similar life from the remainder of =
my
stock, I should run out of keyboards about the year 2250. :-)

You can get PS/2 to USB converters to allow plugging PS/2 keyboards =
and
pointing devices into USB.
The Type M keyboard is definitely a polarising device - some people =
refuse
to use them, others will never willingly type on anything else.
