Hello Greg,
LL>> There are no "illegals" in the USA. Plenty of "undocumented workers"
LL>> - all of them contributing to everything we have here in the USA.
LL>> Perhaps that is what scares you. Folks who come here, willing and
LL>> able to work - for cheap - as you and your kind drive across bridges
LL>> that need repair and might collapse at any time due to cargo ships
LL>> knocking them down.
GD> You're delusional - There are 3.3 Million illegals in the U.S. from south of
GD> the border and others crossing from Mexico into the U.S. from all corners
GD> of the globe. They are not all here to pick vegetables for Birdseye or to
GD> work for any other company.
They are here to get a better life. Or most of them, anyway. Some
of them are old, others are young. Those who are able usually find
jobs, unless they are lazy and do not feel like it. So what's your
problem? This is a land of freedom, and opportunity. At least that
is what it is advertised.
GD> Majority of these people are unemployed and have no intention working on the
GD> books or off of them.
A friend of mine, from Pakistan, worked for years in a furniture
store in Louisiana, staying way past the length of time allowed on
his tourist visa. When it came time to collect his paycheck, his
boss refused to pay him. So he was stuck with bills to pay, and no
money to pay them with. So what did he do? How did he come up with
the money to pay his bills? He married a prostitute.
Muslim guy from Pakistan marries Jewish gal from New Orleans.
Made a great team. And then Ronald Reagan bailed him out by giving
him amnesty so he could become a US citizen.
So what did he do? He ditched his wife, and found a real job.
As a cook in a Chinese restaurant. Learned how to speak a new
language while at it.
And then came the events of 9-11. Time to pack his bags and return
to Pakistan. Where he received new orders of what to do.
GD> The legal immigrants that are here, are very hard working for the most part.
Most people do, whether they are here legally or not.
GD> The legal immigrant is just as unhappy about the (illegals-those who cross
GD> the border like a cock-roach and who are just as unsavory.
My great grandfather was an immigrant. Got here on a ship. He and
my great grandmother had 13 children. It took him a while to cross
the ocean, back and forth, to get all his children (and his wife)
over here. And ne never drove a car a day in his life. That is why
he was a cobbler, by trade. The shop he had in New Orleans is still
there, but is now a clothing store.
He was happy here. Very happy.
My grandfather, who was also from Sicily, was very happy.
So what makes you think that those who are here legally would
not be happy? And what makes you think that those who are not here
legally would be unhappy?
America is a land of opportunity. Where freedom rings.
GD> For the record, I have no problem with anyone from anywhere coming to the
GD> United States_as_long_as_they_come_legally.
Ronald Reagan granted amnesty for those who were not here legally.
Joe Biden should do the same.
Many countries, including Italy, offer such amnesty programs every
ten years or so. So why not here, in the good ol' US of A?
We could use the influx of a younger generation(s) of people.
For Life,
Lee
