AP - Indonesia said Sunday it suspected two fugitives linked to al-Qaida
 had masterminded the suicide bombings of crowded restaurants in tourist

AP - Israel has suspended its offensive into the Gaza Strip following a
 lull in rocket fire by Palestinian militants, but it is ready to
 restart the operation if attacks resume, the army said on Sunday.

    Residents Flee El Salvador Volcanic Blast (AP)

AP - A volcano in western El Salvador erupted on Saturday, sending a
 column of ash 50,000 feet into the air and killing two farmers buried
 by chunks of earth and boiling water that tumbled down the slopes.

    U.S. Launches Offensive in Iraqi Village (AP)

AP - About 1,000 U.S. troops, backed by attack helicopters and
 warplanes, swept into a village near the Syrian border Saturday in an
 offensive aimed at rooting out al-Qaida militants and stemming violence

    Hurricane Causes Floods in Western Mexico (AP)

AP - The outer bands of Hurricane Otis lashed the coast of western
 Mexico Saturday as the storm crawled toward the Baja California
 peninsula, forcing hundreds of families to evacuate their homes and
 flooding roads in this resort city.

    Russia's Sakhalin-1 starts pumping oil (Reuters)

Reuters - Russia's massive Sakhalin-1 oil and gas field started pumping
 oil off the country's Pacific coast at the weekend, the leader of the
 project Exxon Mobil  corporation said on Sunday.

    Israel Issues Sinai Travel Warning (AP)

AP - Israel warned its citizens not to travel to Egypt's Sinai desert
 during the upcoming month of Jewish holidays, saying Sunday it has
 information that Arab militants planning attacks against Israelis are
 already located in the resort area.

    Colombia Grenade Accident Kills 2 Children (AP)

AP - Two young boys began playing with a hand grenade they found in a
 field in rural Colombia were killed when it exploded, police said
 Saturday.

    Israel says citizens risk kidnapping in Sinai (Reuters)

Reuters - Israel urged its citizens on Sunday to avoid vacationing in
 Egypt's Sinai resorts, citing intelligence warnings that they could be
 kidnapped by pro-Palestinian militants during Jewish holidays.

    Bali probe indicates suicide bombers responsible: president (AFP)

AFP - Suicide bombers carried out the deadly bombings on the Indonesian
 resort island of Bali, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono confirmed
 during a visit to the scene.

    Four residents dead from respiratory illness outbreak at Toronto

Canadian Press - TORONTO (CP) - Public health officials are
 investigating the deaths of four people from a "typical respiratory
 illness" at an east-end senior's residence, but say the outbreak is not
 SARS.

    Suicide bombers likely behind Bali blasts -Yudhoyono (Reuters)

Reuters - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said on Sunday
 that suicide bombers were likely behind the three attacks in Bali which
 killed 26 people and wounded 122 others the previous day.
