You can sometimes crash a server, depending on what version of
software, and what else is running.  You can certaining bring it to its
knees.  There are also settings in options and security that can be
adjusted.  Things like securing the file server as in a locked room,
with power backup, and checking logs, limiting user disk space etc.
Physical damage to cable, hubs etc.
Loading of nework aware computer viruses.
