What is going on back east--Matt S. had mentioned this in a post to me a few
weeks ago. I hope that doesn't happen here. The community colleges in this
area are scrambling to provide technical courses for all kinds of jobs that
are open in the area--but they are for people that have had some training.
For example, the college offers a program in Library Science (an associates
degree). Several of their students have been hired locally at public and
school libraries.
I think that college prep is cheap and easy on the taxpayers pocket-however
it is often the worst choice for quite a number of students.
