If you don't have any other invertebrates in the tank (shrimp, crab) and its 
a freshwater tank - then you can fire in some Coppersafe, which is an 
anti-ick medication. Alternately, you can fire in a penny or several. Copper 
is toxic as all get-out for invertebrates.
This is _not_ a friendly way to do the job, but it will work.
