It is, yes... but there are times when something simply doesn't seem
to "fit." If Rayner had written a story about a genie, then that
might have worked. But instead, we have a story about a sculptor in
ancient Rome turning his subjects (and Rose) to stone, that suddenly
turns into a story about a genie at the 2/3 mark. It just doesn't fit
together the way it should. And given how much stronger the Roman
material is than the genie material, it feels like a bad story turn to
have taken.
All just my opinion, of course.
