Have had the same problem, and it took a while to figure out that I had to 
slow down.

I have looked at cone thread, and often thought just from what I saw, that I 
didn't think the quality was very good and have been afraid to buy it.  May 
be a subconscious reason I haven't tried to get out a serger I bought several 
years ago.  I don't want to have to mess with thread problems.
