Exactly.  AAMOF, it is still possible to register the software at BMT
Micro. Those registration payments must be going somewhere, and my money
says that they go to Charles (eventually.)

If the rumor is correct, it's most likely that backups were made, but for
whatever reason could not be restored.  Media failures are fairly common
among tape backups, for example.  I know that if I had a project the size
of IRex, I would have multiple backups on different media, and stored
offsite as well.
