Um, you might have this backwards.
IIRC, VttBotS (the movie) debuted in 1961, thus giving Irwin Allen the opportunity
to make Lost in Space and his other series.  BTW, the original movie had my
favorite Techno-Mage, Michael Ansara, as part of the cast.
