Hi everybody. This item came up in an unexpected place. Heloise. I
guess she's getting more into pet care now than household hints. I
don't see her as a reliable source of info (most of the household
hings she publishes are enviornmentally hostile)- so please feel free
to correct this information if you see fit. I had always thought that
the equation was 7 dog years to one 1 human year. hmm. This is
different. And the 'preteen antics' make no sense. What say you?

My contempt about her hint style here is that she HUMANIZES the dogs.
I know it's just out of fun and is cute but .. I think it's very
strange about this year buisness... hmm. It does make sense in the
fact dogs reach their 'adult' maturity between 1 and 5 but how the dog
behaves is largely dependant on who the pack leader is.

Dear Readers:  Do you ever wonder what age Fido or Lobo is in "human"
years? Actually a year -old  dog is approximaetly 12 in human years-
that might expalin some of those preteen antics!
  Here's a list according to The American Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals [SPCA}  to help you figure the age of your
canine pet in human years. FYI : Smaller dogs age much slower after
about age 5 than their medium to large counterparts, so they tend to
have longer ives. In fact, some small breeds can live 20 years! So
keep this in mind that your 13 year old dog might be thinking about
Social Securuty!

Note due to math problems the age of 10, 12,  and 14 are missing. I
think this age compare is a lot of bunk tho...  what do you think?
