We're talking about a mile in addition to whatever they considered a
safety margin - might be 3-5 miles total at a guess. When you add it up,
it just doesn't make sense.

They say a Stinger only has a range of 2 miles - and that not straight
up. No, if it was a Stinger the shooter would have to be in mid-air
somewhere. But as I say, there are plenty of missiles with longer ranges.

Actually, at the moment they seem to be looking more at some unknown
mechanical failure.
