Well, they were all saying yesterday that with the current platform Pat
believes he can support the Dole candidacy. So much for the U.S.T.P.
Though in reality, what does a platform matter? We had a candidate last
time who was explicitly running against the state's party platform. The
platform doesn't say what Dole stands for, but what the delegates stand
for. Unless he endorses it, it means nothing. (And of course, we know
that with many candidates even if they say one thing they'll do another.)
Maybe Pat should run - at least we know he would work for what the
platform says!
