We don't have any clear definition of "sufficient number" or "widespread use".
CDP is/was used primarily in/around R24. So it was invisible for most of the
other regions, but in widespread use in R24.

There are about 55 nodes supporting IPv6. Anyway, IPv6 is a special case since
IPv4 address space is becoming a scarce commodity. That forces many ISPs/telcos
to migrate customers to DS-lite and other solutions, resulting in the loss of
IPv4 reachability in many cases. It's a good idea to be prepared for that.
