subject: 2m glass mounts

-> Hello all other RF heads ! I am looking to place an antenna on my
-> trysty Ford pick-em-up truck, and want to try to stay away from mag
-> mount antennas. Unfortunately, they trap water, and here in Upstate
-> NY the snow, ice, etc. will rust my poor truck ! Have any of you
-> had good experince with glass mount antennas ? Please advise me of
-> your experiences positive or negative. If I HAVE to, I'll go with a
-> big ole' mag mount, but if I can similar performance from a glass
-> mount I would rather do so. Thanks in advance for your input !
No matter how you look at it there will be More Loss through the
copuler fro the glass mount. So for that Last bit of signal stength the
Permenant mount(Hole in the Roof) or Mag mount is Better .In reality it
depends on what your normal operations are. Can you easily bresak all
the repeaters you use. If so the additional loss of the On the glass
mount won't matter much.
