And so it came to pass, on 11-13-96 16:48,
that Garth Robinson spake unto Sean Dunbar:
GR> According to some expert or another on the same TV program, made a
GR> point of the fact that internal organ damage could occur at the
GR> close proximities. Personally I feel there may be some merit to
GR> this. Didn't the Germans play around with low frequency horns
GR> during WW2, apparently a frequency of around 7Hz has pretty nasty
GR> effects on the body. Is this the bodies resonant frequency, maybe?
GR> If this were the case then surely harmonics of this could be
GR> injurious?
Low frequencies can have some pretty weird effects on the human physiology.
When I saw Orion's demo van at a car-audio soundoff a few years ago, they
cranked ~125-130dB SPL of something like 28Hz (the lowest note produced by
the world's largest pipe organ) through that thing, and sitting inside the
van, I found it difficult to breathe as the sound was causing my vocal cords
to resonate. Sufficient SPL could probably stop the human heart.
SD>> massage when I drive my vehicle (a pickup truck with the tubes
SD>> behind the seat) though :-).
GR> Nah, I prefer my massages to come attached to a sweet topless
GR> blonde. ;-)
I hear Fabio's available these days... ;-)
