Well, "Outer Limits" did (or tried to do) a lot of video adaptations
of SF short stories.  "Harlan's "Demon with a Glass Hand" (very good
episode) is the one that immediately leaps to mind.
Can think of a couple others, but whose names don't come to
mind...(ISTR a couple Blish stories)
However, you'll get no argument from me about "Science Fiction
Theater"  It was always good, and some were very good.  Seminal, I'd
call it.
