The dialogue actually comes earlier in the story, in part 3, when the
Doctor is about to leave for Metabelis III to search for the kidnapped
Sarah-Jane.
MIKE YATES: Yes, but, but, Doctor - a planet's a big place.
DOCTOR: Yes, well, I always leave the actual landing to the TARDIS
herself. She's no fool, you know?
MIKE YATES: You speak as if she were alive?
DOCTOR: (Smiles.) Yes...yes, I do, don't I? Bye, Mike.

IIRC there may be something about it in The Time Monster, but I've no
desire to watch that again to find out.
