LC> Let me add one more trick, one that seems to work for some
LC> of my dive group:
LC> Grab a fresh whole lime--usually not to hard to find at a
LC> dive resort, just ask the bartender for one the night
LC> before--and stick it in your dive bag. When you feel
LC> queasy, pull out the lime, scratch the rind, and sniff it.
LC> Try it, it often works.
LC> Naturally, do all the other things, too: avoid gasoline
LC> and exhaust fumes, don't eat a large greasy breakfast,
LC> stare at the horizon, try a scopolamine patch, try to be
LC> first in the water and last back aboard (this is easy,
LC> since the other divers will cooperate gladly if they know
LC> the alternative).
A lot of people also swear by ginger, though no there is no medical evidence
that supports it. I know quite a few people that take ginger snaps along
when they get on the boat -- if nothing else they have some cookies to munch
on after the dive....
