I just checked... you are right.. it's the year of the sheep/ram. When
I sent out the original message, I wasn't sure, so didn't say... ;)

Do you have a large asian population there in New Zealand...? :)

We have a relative large and varied Asian population here in Rochester,
and the various restaurants, especially the Chinese, tend to make a bit
of a fuss about the New Year. There's at least one local group that
goes around to the various restaurants to do the Dragon dance for the
New Year... :) I don't think they can legally do fireworks here,
although I suppose that a large enough group could get a permit.. :)

We went to our favorite Dim Sum place last Sunday in anticipation of the
new year... :) And yesterday, we met some friends for lunch at our
favorite Japanese restaurant... the owner (our favorite sushi chef for
ages) mentioned that my nephew and his fiance had been there the night
before to celebrate the New Year... :)

... I came, I searched, I found .... now I've mislaid it!
