Leading Last Spring:
"We ran really good there in the spring last year. We had a chance to
win the race.  Dennis Setzer passed us and we raced each other hard, but
clean.  With three laps to go, we ran out of fuel. So we had a good truck
for that race and showed our hand.  That just goes to show, if the truck is
right then it makes the driver look like the hero.  I know my teammate
(Bobby Hamilton) will be strong this weekend because he is one of the best
on the track.  Our trucks are very good and our setups are right on now. 
So we will be one of the teams to beat."

Commanding A Race:
"We inherited the second-place spot in last year's race when the
others behind us pitted, but we had a great truck and were able to stay out
front.  When you are in the lead and you have the chance to finish first or
second, especially when you haven't been in the position before, you have
to go for it.  That was my first time to really have command of a race. 
I've led laps and I've sat on poles, but to really have command of a race
that was it.  It probably impaired our judgement a little bit when we
stayed out and should have come in. We would have relinquished the lead
then and that would have been the right thing to do, as it turned out.  Had
we been lucky and run three or four more laps, which at Martinsville it
might have been just one gallon of gas, we would have been heros if we won
the race."
