The tour was great -- and as the tour director said at the start, each
day seemed better than the last. The trip from Fairbanks to Denali was
via the domed train, and had excellent views. That afternoon we sort of
just chilled out, and then went to the dinner show there. The next day
was an all day tour of the tundra area on a park bus -- not as
comfortable as a touring coach, but very good views of scenery and
wildlife (wolf, grizzlies, dall sheep, carabou, hare). Only problem was
that Denali itself was not visible -- as is appartently the case 75% of
the time.
The trip down through Anchorage was also nice -- we ended up in Seward.
The next day took a boat tour of Resurection Bay. There we saw a lot of
aquatic and shore wildlife -- orca, multiple varieties of nesting birds,
sea lions. We were supposed to round the point to a couple of
glaciers, but a weather front and high seas prevented that.
