Message-ID: Each GM randomly drafts six people from the other show, then there's some time for trading. Ho hum. Rene Dupree goes to Smackdown. Runs his mouth about being the "French phenom". Loses to Jericho after, not one, but *two* rounds of that stupid little dance he does. Jericho takes off. Dupree pisses and moans, and demands respect. Austin "circles the wagons" (um, Lawler, circling the wagons is a *de*fensive maneuver) and shakes Dupree's hand for about half a second, and then stuns him. The idea that Dupree doesn't see this coming a French kilometer away requires more severe suspension of disbelief than usual. Rico and Jackie are in the ring. Shelton Benjamin goes to RAW. Kane comes out and beats Rico, then tells both GMs that he'd better not end up on the same show as Taker. He leaves without crossing paths with Benjamin. Mark Jindrak goes to Smackdown. It's not a good night for tag teams. Nidia goes to RAW. Good, she deserves a chance at the women's division, now that the storyline possibilities with Noble are pretty well run out. Cena does a rap, and makes Heyman's next pick for him. Bischoff gloats, Heyman whines about how *he* didn't make the pick. 3H goes to Smackdown. Bischoff whines about how *Heyman* didn't make the pick. At least 3H won't be allowed to screw his way into the top title, if what we've heard lately (a long reign for Guerrero) holds true. And this clearly indicates how Orton will come to lead Evolution. It seems as if his doing so will not prompt a feud with 3H after all. I won't speculate on whether that's good or bad. Speaking of, Heyman declares a title match between Guerrero and 3H, defending it to Vince as "Guerrero might get drafted too" (yeah right) "so I'm increasing the odds that the WWE title belt stays with Smackdown". Not to be outdone, Bischoff declares a title match between Benoit and whoever he picks next, be it Big Show or Michael Cole. He picks Rhyno. Somewhere in this, Christian beats Spike. Then Flair and Batista regain the tag titles, after a single-leg dropkick from RVD goes astray. RVD is promptly drafted. RVD and Booker T are in the back, discussing a rematch, when Coachman delivers the news. Edge is drafted to RAW. Heyman whines about how he's on injured reserve (and, by implication, should therefore be excluded from the draft). Theodore Long goes to Smackdown. Whoop de fuckin' do. I had precisely zero interest in Long's Black Pride storyline. (Giving Mark Henry a mean streak was smart, but you could easily ditch Black Pride and keep the mean streak.) Tajiri goes to RAW. Good, now maybe Akio and Sakoda will get out of his shadow. (Whose fault is it that they were still there until tonight?) I like Tajiri, I just want to see whether A+S are capable of being anything more than heel henchmen. Spike goes to Smackdown. Good, he deserves a chance at the cruiserweight division, after endless David and Goliath matches. Paul Heyman goes to RAW! No, he quits instead. The trade deadline is extended from midnight tonight to 9 pm Tuesday night, which means we get to watch the results on Smackdown. Bischoff goes to the ring and talks about how cool he is. Edge shows up. Bischoff keeps smiling. Until he gets speared. Somewhere in this, Benoit beats Rhyno. Somewhere in this, Michaels tells Bischoff that he's pissed with Benoit but he's more pissed with 3H, and demands to be traded. Bischoff "goes him one better" by promising him a title shot at Backlash. Michaels says sure, what better way to get back at 3H than to take the heavyweight title? Which 3H doesn't have any more. Yeah, that makes sense. 3H comes out, wearing a RAW shirt, which he rips off Hogan-style to reveal a Smackdown shirt underneath. He rips off that one in the ring (it doesn't tear completely, so he just pulls it off over his head). Guerrero and 3H go at it for a while. Batista hands 3H the title, then Michaels comes in and superkicks it into his face. That's a much more sensible way to screw 3H. Things quickly degenerate into a huge brawl involving everyone from both brands. Somewhere in this, Christian hits Guerrero, giving him a win by DQ. --- Internet Rex 2.29* Origin: The gateway at Swills (1:555/5555) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 555/5555 229/3000 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
