subject: Them troubling tetras...

Hi everyone!
I'm a recent owner of a 20 gal. tropical aquarium and have a couple of
questions about tetra behavior. It's been setup about 9 weeks and had
a case of ICK 5 weeks ago. Lost a Molly due to a secondary body fungus.
Recently I lost 2 new additions: 2 Neon Tetras due to mysterious
circumstances.
A little background:
The tank's inhabitants:
2 Zebra Danios
3 Mollys
2 Red eye tetras
1 Blueberry Tetra
1 Strawberry Tetra
1 Neon Tetra (was 3)
Observations:
It seems to me that one of the Red eyes is aggressive and
territorial. It chases the other 3 Tetras away from its
area of the tank. (The Neon is in hiding) There are some
discolored patches in the docile Red eye tetra almost like
"battle scars". One of the dead neons was sucked up the
filter tube, so it was hard to tell what killed him, the other
looked like he was in a fight.
Temporary Solution:
I seperated the agressive Red eye tetra in a breeding net.
Now he doesn't eat. He attacks the net occasionally.
The other fish started interacting more and moving about
to areas of the tank where they normally did not go. The
Neon tetra is out in the open more now.
My question:
Has anyone experienced Red eye tetras with this kind of behavior? Any
ideas on a permanent solution? (I'd like to remove the breeding net
from the tank eventually)
I have a second Tetra question: (I promise it won't be so long winded)
Two weeks ago in put in the Blueberry and Strawberry Tetras. It took two
days for the blueberry to start eating. Since he has grown to twice the
size of the Strawberry Tetra who has not eaten in 15 days! Should I be
concerned about this? Will he start eating eventually? He seems to be
acting like the other Tetra.
Thanks in advance for any insight,
Ernie
