Clinton, a scumbag, was impeached for lying.  The Republican-controlled
Senate refused to convict him.  Bob Packwood resigned, he wasn't
"bounced".  Bob Livingston resigned, he wasn't
"bounced".

Neither of those are illegal, and both now have equal status.

When I look, I see a Republican Party that to this day refuses to admin
that George HW Bush, Bill Casey, John Poindexter,and Ollie North were
breaking the law, with impunity, passed by the US Congress. Hell, GHWB
escaped untainted by that scandal.  His boss pled (convincingly!)
ignorance.  North and Poindexter both got off on technicalities are both
have been "rehabilitated" in the eyes of their Republican
counterparts.

I see Dick Cheney, an energy industry insider, in closed meetings with his
energy industry cronies to formulate an energy policy and then
stonewalling, with impunity,  requests to shinse some light on the process.

I see an Administration holding prisoners at Guantanamo Bay without regard
to their rights under the Geneva convention, and thumbing their noses, with
immunity, at those who question the legality of that action.

I see an Administration that holds US citizens in military prisons without
charging them with crimes, without providing them access to counsel and
without the due process guaranteed them by the Constitution.  And I see
that Administration thumbing its nose at anyone who questions these
actions.
