It is a must. It will replace the internal Item Selector you are currently
familiar with, and will give you the ability to move all over your system
(from drive to drive).  It will let you rename,copy,move,delete files.  You
can set files to read-only, check size of any file, print files, display
files, set paths specifically, have 10 preset paths, show 8 files at a time
to 60 at a time, etc.  It is $15 new, and a must.

That has nothing to do with TOS.  You have a good TOS for your machine.  What
it sounds like is a bad floppy drive.  I was afraid of that, but I tested the
machine over and over before sending it to you, and it never occured.  At
this point, I would figure it would be best to either a>get a replacement
floppy drive, or b>add an external B drive.  Sorry to bear bad news.
