Not in the context given.  Morella said that he had already passed a
few such options, and she was now itemizing the ones he has left:  The
eye that does not see, the man who is already dead, and if he fails
either of those two, at the last he must surrendering himself to that
he fears the most.

And since they were all "chances", it certainly implies that any one of
the five (in total, including the two he already missed) would enable
him to avoid "the destiny he fears"; that acting on all of them are not
required, only any one of them.

I don't.  I think his greatest fear is the loss of self-determination.
He hated being manipulated by others, and he certainly was afraid of
what the Keeper implied for him.  But if he didn't, the Drakh would
have destroyed his world and annihilated his people.
