Years ago, there was a report on one of the SD channels about a woman in
Carlsbad who grew her tomatos in a hanging basket. She said it kept the
ground bugs and animals (gophers) off of her plants. I tried it and other
than it required more watering than usual, it worked great. Funny thing is
I don't care for tomatos and so I had no reason to grow them, except that
my wife Nancy is Italian and loves tomatos. She eats them like apples.
