Marina, an interesting bit of trivia, but only in the USA did 'female
sysops' ¨ever become 'common' and at that it was 25% at best. In the early
days of ¨Fidonet, most of the women used handles (nicknames) that didnt
show they were ¨female. Mostly we did that because we were tired of being
asked about being ¨female and being into BBSing (grin).
I can't tell ya how many times someone told me to 'ask my husband to fix
¨(insert some BBS feature)'. They were merely unaware that my husband is
not a ¨BBS type of person and has never even logged on in the past 16
years! He's ¨handy though with helping swap out parts of the BBS machine
as they wear down.
