Lol.. ok, no problem. The filegate uses the shortest path between the guy that hatches and the main fidonet backbone.. so files come in here from the guy that hatches, and my system then sends them to numerous downlinks and the other two Backbone stars (Ross and Bob). We only let one node hatch; in other words on my system only one node will have hatching privileges in each file echo. In this case the one who is set to hatch is Dallas. Everyone else in the config for that file echo is set to receive the file. That way, if someone down the line misconfigures his system, my system won't 'burp' back another release of the file An exception to the "one node hatch" rule is if an area is a backchannel area. A backchannel area is one that receives files from anyone in fidonet, but only sends those files to one node, who is the FDN Coordinator. He can then decide if he wants to hatch the file or not. You'll see backchannel areas listed in filegate.zxx with names like FILES2HQ, etc. Hope that helps.
