Replying to a message of Ross Cassell to All: RC> If it is not ok for people of faith to foist their beliefs onto others RC> whom do not share them, why is it ok for people of non-faith to do RC> it? AFAIK the objections of non-believers have to do with continued attempts by believers to have their beliefs written into law and/or advertise their beliefs on public property. Most of the believers I refer to seem to be fundamentalist Christians. Non believers are not objecting to the beliefs of believers. Anybody can believe whatever they want, foisting those beliefs on others is a different can of worms. There's a reason that government *must* be neutral WRT religious beliefs. Ignoring religion is not at all the same thing as disparaging it or trying to eliminate it. Preventing believers from using public property to advertise their beliefs (and proselytize) is not persecution, no matter how much they scream that it is. --- FleetStreet 1.19+* Origin: Bob's Boneyard, Emerson, Iowa (1:300/3) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 14/250 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 222/2 226/0 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 396/45 633/260 267 690/734 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 105 2905/0 @PATH: 300/3 14/5 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
