Dane, do you have Gert's BBS set up in the IREX node manager?  I have this
same problem from time to time and the only way that I have found to get
around it is by actually setting up the node in the node manager.  I have
tried looking through the documentation of IREX myself and have yet to see
what format nodelist IREX uses.  (And leaving messages on Charles' own BBS
these days does not seem to help either as I have yet to receive an answer
to any of my queries.)
