At the time, our concealed carry law had not yet come into force, though
I knew it would. My primary consideration was actually the briefcase, not
the holster - but I also knew I would be getting my permit eventually.
A dealer from your state - D & R Enterprises of Tucson - happened to be
at one of our gun shows, with the full line of Stealth Products fanny
packs, purses, and 2 or 3 briefcases. After looking at it, I bought it
for use as a briefcase, and have used it as that since. Only recently did
I get my license, and the other aspect of it have any direct value.
In their catalog, they call it a briefcase/overnight bag. It has two main
compartments each of which would hold a 3" thick textbook (I'm a teacher
after all), an accessory pocket with smaller pockets in it for pens,
pencils, calculators (in my case) or maybe a laptop or cell phone, two
other pockets for papers, etc. And then it has a concealed central
compartment just like many purse/holsters, with velcro closure and velcro
attachments for a holster. The holster is available in only 3 sizes, but
can also be worn on the belt for either hand and has a thumb break strap.
At the show, there was either black or maroon, though the catalog only
listed black. (If you haven't got it yet, this is a soft-side briefcase,
not a hard-side.) Oh, of course it also comes with a shoulder strap,
which is adjustable and removable.
All I know for sure about the company is that it says "Stealth Products,
a division of Coronado Leather", and I believe it was made in Mexico but
I'm not sure. As I say, they offer a full range of purses in various
styles, fanny packs, packs which double as a clutch, tote bags, and the
briefcase.
As of last year when they were at the show, D & R was listed at
D & R Enterprises

So, I suppose you could call it a trick briefcase, but not what you were
imagining. ;-) It is not a hard-side with some trick latch or some such,
but simply the briefcase-equivalent of a purse holster.
