Kathy, I ran into something interesting that is used to pad the bottom of the 
aquarium/brooder. It is called a reptile pad. I'm not certain what it is 
made of but it looks like a thin, 1/4 in, felt liner. I am certain that is 
made of sturdier stuff cause they had a whole tub full of them soaking in 
bleach.
I normally use mounds of crinkled up newspaper with paper towels over it and 
I chnage this at every feeding. It is something that I am thinking of using 
in 
the future. Of course, the Brawny people might go out of business.
