The plot thickens.  I have exactly three files in my /bad directory:

All three seem to be direct netmails from Ogg.

Here is the header of the last packet.  I've replaced the escape characters
with spaces for the purpose of this message and the "white box" character with
*s.

I'm wondering if the (F)MPT kludge split up on multiple lines is the culprit?
