Weird Al aside, over here in UK-land there's a perpetually amusing radio 
series - I'm Sorry, I Haven't a Clue - in which the denizens have been 
making a living from (among other things) singing One Song to the Tune of 
Another for *36* *years*. So I guess it's not a particularly new art form.
