Not to defend Wind River, but I'm sure VxWorks is already very well entrenched
in your neck of the woods. It's an embedded real-time OS that runs where Unix
won't, including cars, planes, printers, routers, robots, satellites,
refrigerators, you name it. Slackware and VxWorks are not competitors. There
*are* embedded real-time Linux distros (e.g. MontaVista) that compete with
VxWorks, but Slackware isn't one of them, so I don't why Wind River would care
about Slackware.
