TT> DOS/4GW is a DOS extender that comes with Watcom C/C++.
It's a cut-down version of DOS/4G from Rational Systems, which does support
C/C++ compilers other than Watcom C++. Rational Systems has a licencing deal
with Watcom (and whoever owns them now -- Sybase?) that allows DOS/4GW to be
shipped and used with Watcom C++; but it also sells the full DOS/4G extender
as a separate product in its own right.
I know that Phar Lap's TNT DOS extender (which is another "full" product) is
compatible with MetaWare High C++, Borland C++, and Watcom C++. I should
think that DOS/4G would have a similar wide range of support.
And if one is using Borland C++ 3.x, one option (if for some bizarre reason
one *really* didn't want to upgrade to a later version of Borland C++ or to
switch to Watcom C++) would be to find out whether Rational Systems will
still supply DOS/16M, which was the 16-bit predecessor to DOS/4G, and whether
it works with Borland C++ 3.x .
