Bristol-Myers profit rises, sales flat (Reuters)
Reuters - Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. on Friday said third-quarter profit
rose, helped by the sale of its consumer medicines business, but
company revenue was unchanged amid declining sales of drugs facing
generic competition.
Avon quarterly profit falls 7 percent (Reuters)
Reuters - Avon Products Inc. , the world's top direct seller of beauty
products, on Friday said quarterly profit fell 7 percent as high
gasoline prices hurt sales in the United States and weakness continued
in other regions such as China.
Constellation Energy earnings fall (Reuters)
Reuters - Power company Constellation Energy Group Inc. on Friday said
third-quarter earnings fell, hurt by a significant rise in commodity
prices due to the U.S. Gulf Coast hurricanes.
Archer Daniels profit drops 30 percent (Reuters)
Reuters - Agribusiness group Archer Daniels Midland Co. on Friday

bigger-than-expected decline in durable goods orders, while General

France sets price for electricity sell-off (AFP)
AFP - France's Economy ministry fixed the share price range for
individual investors in the planned part-privatisation of electricity
utility EDF at 28.50-33.10 euros (34.60-40.19 dollars), with 85 percent
remaining in state hands.
Goody's Family Clothing OKs Buyout Offer (AP)
AP - Goody's Family Clothing Inc., a chain of small department stores in
the Southeast and Midwest, on Thursday ended a three-week bidding war
for the retailer by accepting a sweetened buyout offer worth about $327
million from two New York investment firms.
