Once again the group has come through with flying colors! I have received
many sources for parts, several of which were completely new to me. Since most
everyone suggested not only replacing the electrolytics, but also the diodes and
resistors, so I decided to go with the great retrofit kit made by Harbach
Electronics that Jason, N1SU, told me about. The RK-AC4 kit includes everything
needed to completely rebuild the power supply, and the design places everything
neatly on a PC board! This should be a fun little project for me, and, at the
same time, will get me a nice new power supply to boot :-)). These newer rigs
like the T-4XB are going to be great fun for me to learn. Since I am used to
pre 1945 technology, (dealing mostly with Hallicrafters and military equipment
from that era), the next step in technology is going to be an interesting
change of pace. Anyway, thanks again to everyone for the great advise and
resources.
