billgoodwin  made an utterence to the drakelist gang

When I am in X-CW my Drake wattmeter shows about 139 watts on forward;
when on X-Am and the mic on PTT - I get 10 watts when I push the PTT
and about 30 when I talk;
when on SSB and I merely push the PTT the meter shows a slow rise to
about 20 watts and when I talk it goes down to 15 or so.

I am told that I should not show any output merely by pressing
PTT when on SSB

Would appreciate any and all comments on this.
