Hey Carol!

From my observations from the two different pkt's I have been recieving, it
appears to me that it might be a compatibility issue, usually the pkt header. 
Despite the offsets being the same, I have seen variations in the past that
caused grunging of packed msg's within.  I have even managed to screw it up
when creating headers for outbound.  Locally I never use them for my purposes
for headers.

If I were to bet money on this, I'd bet on some header silliness causing the
problem.  Personally I believe at the very least the binary crap contained
within them should be taken out back and shot.  ;-)
