CG>>Thought I would interject here.......the physics of seasickness is
CG>>basically the same as airsickness or motion sickness.....a few
CG>>suggestions to try that I use as a aerobatic flight
CG>>instructor/competitor, modified for boating.......
That is hill of a job. Have fun.
CG>>1) Do NOT not eat......Eat a reasonable meal......light, not small, by
CG>>that I mean dont try to get by on one piece of toast. Dont stuff your
CG>>self full to the gills (scuse the pun ;-) but EAT....the content is
CG>>important......stay away from heavy, greasy foods, thats what is meant
CG>>by light. Allow a little time for the food to settle 1/2hour - hour or
CG>>so....
The majority of my boat dives are early morning. Before the trip I take
one Cheese sandwich and a glass of orange juice. Is that appropriate ?
CG>>2) Super Hydrate......this means drink alot of water.....ALOT, not just
CG>>a glass or so before you get on the boat......but quarts, early before
CG>>the boating day begins, then continue thru-out the day.....
That is a good one. I will try it.
CG>>3) If you can stay to the rear of the boat.....its up and down motion
CG>>as well as swaying motion is less there.
Paul told me to stay to the front of the boat as it is better ventelated
there and I would be further away from the boat exhaust. Please,
elaborate on this issue.
CG>>4) Try to focas on the shore line, if it is within viewing range. This
CG>>will help prevent your eye to inner ear to brain connection from
CG>>becoming confused with the motion.....hopefully preventing that stomach
CG>>to mouth to boat rail connection =)
I do that during the trip. But, my problem is not during the trip. My
problem is when the boat stops at the dive sight.
CG>>Try those, as well as some of the other suggestions you may get.
CG>>Everyone does react a differently. If all else fails, try seeing
CG>>your doctor, he or she may be able to help by prescribing something to
CG>>make the boat ride tolerable.
I will do that.
Thanks for the good hints body. Waiting to hear from you again.
Regards.
