Hi Carol,
CS> Well, its not really a 'craft you can make for another' if you get my
CS> meaning. Its more like 'building an heirloom' and it looked pretty
Sounds like a good idea, especially if you've traveled a lot or have a
lot of special memory things.
CS> Take a BIG sheet, in a solid color. (You will be glad for the colid
CS> color later as it develops, glad I started it that way!). Dark Green
I'll have to remember this; I was thinking of doing a patchwork sort of
Dresden plate skirt but this saves all the cutting and piecing.
CS> will make a circle big enough to fit the largest tree you can fit in
CS> your house, and keep the needles off the carpet. I used one big
Because of my allergy/asthma problems, we got an artifical tree. Didn't
even set it up this year.
CS> Now cut this into a big circle. I did that by folding it 'fan shaped'

Rachel (my older daughter) somehow managed to get 2 semi circles when
she cut fabric for a treee skirt this year; I think she had it folded
wrong.
CS> Gotta admit. My MIL is a lovely person, but she brings me huge
CS> 'glots' of stuff I have no use for at all. Could be that that
CS> Fortunately she is a good soul about it and is looking forward to us
CS> having a yardsale this spring to sell of what we cant use and isnt
CS> upset that much of it will be the stuff she brought us from her own
 CS> yardsale finds).
Gee, anything useful should be posten on Crafting for Sale; you might
get better prices.
Catch you later,
Ruth
