You ought not wish for temps that low, you folks in the south (no
disrespect intended) can not fathom the severity of those temps, flesh
freezes in mere minutes if not seconds, if you are gasping for air you may
very well damage your lungs. Anything metal is brittle after -25C, anything
colder just adds to the brittlness, so machinery (cars included) can easily
break down. Plants in your area would be decimated in under 4 hours at
those temps and your landscape would look like a massive amount of poison
hit it.

You still wish for -40C then come on up to the north as a winter holiday,
much safer that way for your area.
