There are those who say it should change, and their arguments are
good.

OTOH there are those who say it should stay the same, even though
the content of the messages changes, as this allows someone to
follow the changing thread.

Personnally I don't care either way. I scan each message, no
matter what the subject line, and read it thoroughly if it looks
interesting.
